Stories from Women's Shelters

Women's and violence victims shelters are full of hundreds of sad stories, where women are victims of violence, rape and abuse of all sorts. During our visit to one of these shelters, whose superintendent did not want to mention its name, we found women from different nationalities in this shelter, who reside in a place under the direct supervision of the shelter. These women are provided with all means of protection and safety to save them from any danger that may threaten their lives. So let's listen to the story of these women:

Two women from Africa:

Journey of misery, which started many years ago, has ended now in Syria. They came from a country where destructive civil wars existed. Their only way out was fleeing from their country and its wars,

The two girls moved among many African countries, until they met someone who works in white slavery. This latter tempted the two naive girls into going to Europe, in return they had to all what they have ever saved from hard work, an amount of 3000 US dollars.

To Syria … Not Europe:

After the girls resigned themselves to the man, who took all the money they have, they started off. He took them to many countries keeping them locked, and forced them to work in prostitution. The girls did not know where they were whenever he took them to a new place. Until finally they ended in a small room in the suburb of Damascus, that when the man told them that they arrive in Europe.

When the two girls were left to wait on their own for so long, until they broke the door of the room they were locked in. they did not know in any country they are. Then they met an African guy who directed them to go to the UN to help them. But they were once again a victim of more trials of assault, rape and abuse by the new African friends who pretended that they wanted to give help to the girls. Finally the girls decided to go to the UN center.

At the shelter:

After resorting to the UN. They transferred them to this shelter after studying their case. In the shelter, we worked on rebuilding the girls' self-confidence, they were given lessons in Arabic language and handcraft. So that they become able to learn some profession. The shelter rented a house for the girls, and now they are in a good condition under the protection and support of the shelter, waiting for the UN's approval to grant them refuge and protection, until they immigrate to a western country.
